Sample IELTS Speaking Part 2: Describe a movie you watched recently that you felt disappointed about
I recently had the opportunity to view the film titled “The Batman.” This cinematic work falls within the superhero genre, focusing on the transformation of Bruce Wayne into a vigilante following the tragic loss of his parents. This production was unveiled to the public in March 2022 and garnered a spectrum of reviews.
My choice to watch “The Batman” was motivated by my affinity for the superhero genre. Furthermore, I was particularly intrigued to witness Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Bruce Wayne, considering his reputation as a skilled actor.
Regrettably, my experience with “The Batman” was marked by disappointment for several distinct reasons. Primarily, I found the narrative to be characterized by a rather sluggish pace. The film’s runtime exceeded two and a half hours, and at times, it felt as though the plot moved at a laborious pace. Secondly, while the fight sequences were commendably choreographed, they lacked the exhilaration and intensity I had anticipated. Thirdly, the character development in the movie left much to be desired. While Bruce Wayne’s character was a compelling protagonist, the supporting cast failed to captivate and engage to the same degree.
In sum, my overall impression of “The Batman” is that it was a somewhat underwhelming cinematic experience. While it possessed certain commendable elements, it ultimately failed to meet the high expectations I had held.
